Think We Haven’t Come A Long Way? Watch How Ridiculous Men Were Just 40 Years Ago..

as powerful as this video statement is in its own right and context, what impacts me most about it …

…is that it chronicles greatness and achievement in what is for me a more realistic, accurate and basically believable light

to my mind we are force-fed, even bombarded with strategies and techniques towards greatness and achievements by the meme guru’s in all areas of life…

we are pressured to buy expensive books and DVD’s, attend expensive seminars and specific ‘higher’  education institutions, to follow a series of specific steps, strategically address our thinking, follow specific doctrines or belief systems, change our personal habits…

… all this to ensure our individual greatness

in a lost and empty world

…desperate for significance and meaning

the more I’ve observed greatness the more I’ve come to see that the honesty and humble, basic passions of seemingly insignificant individuals has been the most profound catalyst for significant change and event in history … both of a constructive and destructive nature

greatness and significance cannot be manipulated by anyone…

it happens

…it just happens

it also seems that very few ‘greats’ consciously set about being great

they sometimes have a subjective ‘sense’ of destiny… perhaps

but mostly it’s just ordinary people

doing ordinary things

… with extraordinary passion and honesty

life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans    (allegedly – John Lennon)

I have seen something else under the sun:

the race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong,

nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned;

but time and chance happen to them all    (allegedly – Solomon)

I’m really not sure

where I’ll go when I’m gone

But I’m sure I’ll know more then

than I’m sure I know right now

winds of sand

the wind plays a new tune

the moon whistles back

pitter patter moisture drops

trace pathways down my back

the tides time is turning

the levels ebb and flow

the season’s fill with seasoning

around again we go

feet drag

and hands hang

swiftness of foot fails

the tracks of humans disappear

tombstones mark our trails

come now, let us go

the pace of life moves far too slow

and time and space

it races on,

going nowhere

we only see what we can see

especially with eyes closed

our spited face,

is in disgrace

because it has no nose

so it matters not

what matters not

and space is all we have

for the gaps between

cannot be seen

it either is, or it is not

but in the end it really doesn’t matter

if what it is, is what it’s not

we might as well keep moving on

because it’s all we’ve got

earthen vessels

these bodies of clay

the smell of death is so real

it just won’t go away

the spark is down deep

where the lights are kept low

where the air is so thick

and there’s nowhere to go

it glows dim in the night

barely keeping ablaze

the gaps never close

it keeps slipping away

to tackle the task

is the way of a fool

there’s no grip that will last

it’s like trying to run in a pool

it’s death that brings life

at least that’s what they say

but to drop it and walk

is a hard game to play

so we close our eyes

try to have us some fun

but there’s no compromise

better dead than half done

“she has a history” they said… but that’s the only thing any of us have that’s in any way even vaguely measurable

piercing it all together
gathering to divide
rounding up to tear apart
to tell the truth, I lied

plunder in the name of service
a prophet for the leadership
service in the name of plunder
leadership for the profit

“look at me!” they all cry…
but we can’t!
because we want you to look at us!
and you can’t because …

conversation/converse – to discuss, interact, speak with another, exchange, discover, invite another perspective

convert/converse – to change, turn around, convince, cause to face the opposite way, confront, cause another to hear your way instead

advertising/marketing = convince others to need and acquire, prevent them thinking, even to close down options

“converse” – 2 opposing meanings? or maybe not?

everybody talking at the same time  –  so few really listening

everybody seems to be wanting to influence others… why?

– is this all we are? … a 7 Billion+ lonely hearts club?

there is no such thing as universal subjectivity
subjectivity is … subjective
when subjectivity gains a social conformity it is always at a cost
this cost is primarily to the individual
it demands a compromise that subjugates reason and sensibility and elevates primal insecurity in all individuals
it needs no policing because if any individual thinks, speaks or acts independently they are censured, marginalized and if necessary expelled
it is also at great cost to the whole group as it lowers the honesty, integrity, intelligence, morality, ethics, functionality, productivity, etc. … to the lowest common denominator
one of the most deceptive forms of social conformity is democracy
democracy is manipulative and coercive at its root and masquerades brazenly as individual and corporate freedom and power to and for the people, but in effect only emasculates a group or even a nation and reduces its value and effectiveness to the level of the scum at the very bottom of the collective gene pool
religion and capitalism are the identical murderous twins of democracy
it is difficult to say which came first, but they are all equally diabolical
socialism and communism are merely democracy at an even more mindless, vulgar and violent level

way out
in the infinitely immeasurable
‘out there’
is a place of space
that originates
deep down
in the infinitely unfathomable
‘in here’
